Fix Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Socket Leaks

The Diplomat MFT Service running on Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 can experience a problem such that no more socket connections can be created.  When this occurs, the Diplomat Client and Job Monitor cannot connect to the Diplomat MFT Service and the Diplomat MFT Service cannot connect to FTP and other servers during file transfer jobs.

The error in the Diplomat log is typically "No buffer space available (maximum connections reached?)".

Restarting the Diplomat MFT Service will not correct this problem.  Rebooting the operating system will temporarily correct the problem — until the maximum socket connections are reached again.

This problem can be resolved by applying a Microsoft hotfix to the operating system to address an error that "leaks" socket connections.  Go to  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2577795 to read a more detailed description of this problem and obtain the hotfix.
